I want to start this week’s newsletter with a challenge: don’t slip.
It’s easy to watch these final few weeks of the year slip away, but if you want to be successful - don’t let them.
That doesn’t mean overworking yourself, ignoring your family, or pushing your team to the brink of burnout. Instead, think about bringing intention into the last month of the year. How can you show up mindfully, especially in the areas that matter to you? What can you let go of that isn’t working? Where are you most likely to let things slip, and how can you guard against that?
We laugh at clichés like “failing to plan is planning to fail,” but they’re especially true at this time of year - how you plan is how you win. Are you going to slip into 2023? Or are you going to walk in with intention - with purpose - and ready to win?
Not a paid subscriber? Here’s what you missed this month:
Obsess Over the Right Things: If your work, company, or life isn’t moving in the direction you wish, you might be obsessing over the wrong things - and that’s holding you back.
Writing is Rewriting: If you want to create a stellar life, you need to think about it like a writer and an editor. Ready to step into Version 2.0? Start here.
Lead From the Front: How to Navigate Uncertainty and Win: 2023 is right around the corner, and it’s going to be a wild ride. If you want to be ready, it’s time to start preparing now.
The Life-Changing Benefits of Being Boring: We don’t like to hear that “boring is exceptional,” but it’s often the ultimate secret to success. Learn how to embrace boring -and leverage it - if you want to skyrocket your results.
1. Never underestimate the power of confidence. It can carry you farther than talent or skill.
2. If you want to outperform your competition, stop focusing on what they’re doing and focus on yourself - are you putting in the work?
3. Perseverance and grit are important traits, but don’t let them take you down a path that isn’t serving you.
4. You are your own best investment. Treat yourself accordingly.
5. If you focus solely on what you lack, you risk defining yourself by those weaknesses. Double-down on your strengths, celebrate your wins, and use your achievements as fuel to push you forward.
6. You haven’t missed anything. Just keep going.
Let’s talk about you.
Schedules are getting even more hectic, inboxes are slammed, and everyone is feeling the pressure build as the end of the year approaches. It can be hard to take time to sit down and work on yourself, but that’s exactly what I want to encourage you to do.
What do you need? How can you show up for yourself right now?
If you’re not sure, start by answering the poll below. I want to hear about what you’re struggling with, including the obstacles you’re facing and where you need the most assistance, so I can make sure this newsletter best supports you.
Another fantastic TotW!
Mindset for me; namely getting out of my own way. It's a constant challenge and something I constantly improve upon. It'll never be perfect and I'm ok with that but reminders, tips, strategies, etc would all be awesome help :)
