Check in: Are your actions aligned to your goals?
Have you ever tried to swim in a football field? As amusing as the image is, why would you? It’s futile. No matter how adept you are, you will be hindered by an environment that is built for one direction, and you’re trying to do another. It simply isn’t constructed for your goals.
This is true in every aspect of your life — the trick is spotting these misalignments.
Whether it is the company you’re at, the position you hold, or the actions you take, it is crucial to periodically check in to make sure they are aligned with what you want to do and who you want to be. Are your actions or environment keeping you stuck and stagnant, or are you spreading your wings and flexing in an environment that is allowing you to do exactly what you want to do and where you want to go.
Once you take the time to realign, you will always change your trajectory for the better. Time to pull things into position.
