I had a very self-reflective client who would ask himself the question, “What do I need to change now?” every Monday morning. His business had grown from $0-$150m+ in valuation over the years, and answering that question was something he felt took away his excuses and made him drill down on the most important things.
It might seem like an abrupt start to your week, but — in reality — we all have those things. The things we know that we need to change, but we’re dragging our feet to address. We put it off because it’s one less thing we have to do, and sometimes…it’s “comfortable enough” where we are — or uncomfortable to take action – so we end up stuck, unsatisfied, and smaller than we wish even though we know that we’re capable of more.
