All power comes from inside of you. You use it or not, push it away or draw it closer, lean into it or avoid it. Power is a concept that, depending on how it is ingested, will pull you forward or keep you locked under a ceiling forever.
I’ve watched those frozen by power, those who avoided power, those put off by power who struggle until we get them in their groove…and I’ve seen those who have found a way to wrangle their power and use it.
The top .01% have an interesting relationship to power. They’ve learned to accept it, know how to use it, and have a way that they understand it as it relates to both themselves and the world around them. It works for them, it helps to move their world, and it started long before that power was ever formally granted by their income or success in business.
We are given all sorts of messages about power. A lot of judgments – good or bad. We are even taught about what types of people have power. But at the end of the day, every person I’ve met contains it in spades…just not everyone uses it.
The people who accept and understand their own power go on to do incredible things that even surprise themselves, which is why I’m going to ask you seven probing questions to help you determine your relationship to power – and challenge you to dig into your own personal power philosophy. Heads up: you’ve got a power philosophy right now, whether you realize it or not, so let’s make it work for you.
