Success requires commitment...but if we're honest, most people who speak about wanting big things are committed to the wrong things. Things that won’t get them where they want to go and leave them wondering why?
The truth? If you want to be *actually* successful and hit a massive target, your “commitments” can’t be lip service, and it certainly can’t be aspirational. When I look at the highest performers across industries, their true commitments are deeply apparent in every choice they make.

True Commitment requires things of you.
I have meetings with people all the time—from those worth billions to those far earlier in their journey—and the thing that often strikes me is the singular focus they all share. Each person I work with can clearly articulate exactly what they are committed to attaining.
No hedging, no "sort of," or “hope to.”
It is pure, unwavering commitment.
Meanwhile, if you are out and about in society, you’ll frequently hear (or see) statements like these playing out from those who are having challenges breaking through:
"I want success, but not at the expense of my weekends."
"I'm ambitious, but I also need work-life balance."
"I'm committed, but I’m not going to do X, Y, or Z that is inconvenient."
“I really want to get there, but it’s a lot of work.”
These statements reveal exactly why these individuals aren't where they want to be. They've drawn artificial boundaries around their commitment, and wonder why their results are equally bounded.
This article will break down what real commitment looks like and why most people are falling short. I’d challenge you to call yourself or others out if you see any of this in your circles.
