Throughout your life and your career, people have likely told you to “be realistic” with your goals. Someone might’ve cautioned you to aim lower, fall within your means, and not be unreasonable with whatever it is you want to do or with the outcome you are trying to reach.
I’m here to tell you that if you listen to them and change your goals for someone else’s sake, you will put at risk what you’re truly capable of - and increase the possibility of regret. Refuse another person’s notion of what is “realistic” for you, amp up your optimism, and don’t dampen your dreams.
To live by another’s definition is to limit yourself before you’ve even reached the starting line.
