Today, you have a choice to make.
Like any other day, you will get up, get ready for your work, and move through your day…and if you are ambitious, you likely have some solid intentions for today. Some that you will make good on, and some that will be the can that gets kicked down the road.
Every day presents critical choices that shape your trajectory—choices most overlook while going through the routine and chaos of the day.
“Every day, I show up to be the most strategic CFO out there.” -Client
What I liked about this client is that being a CFO is considered to be a very routine and process-driven job by many, but if you do it right? This executive seat can be a strong driver and decision-maker in the company, a CEO whisperer of sorts, and the person who finds inefficiencies and opportunities that no one else can.
I can’t tell you how many people I’ve talked to who would love to have a CFO like this one. He comes to the table, remains consistent, comes with ideas, and backs up his choice to be strategic and effective. People like that are one in a million, and you can be too.
A lot of people intend to do great things, they have “good intentions,” but being the “real deal” stands out.
A lot of people think they’re committed, but then set themselves up with all sorts of escape routes, and cognitive outs. They allow themselves too much mental wiggle room, so they slip into what they intended to do, rather than making a true decision.
The choices we make must be made with resolve, and we must make good on them…but how do we reliably do this? How do we keep ourselves from getting complacent with what we want? From giving ourselves those cognitive outs?
Well, this takes some strategy and a specific way of operation that you can start implementing today. I’ll give you a framework to use, to hold yourself to the fire.
Here is how to think about the choices you make, and how you can truly make good on them.
