If you’re like many of the people I work with, you’re probably described as “intense.”
Intense people get things done. They plow through the hard stuff. They are like a dog with a bone: no pulling them from what they know they need to do or taking them off course.
They’re also hard to live with.

They all matter, but the nature of the intense person is to go all-in and be immersive, and that can end up sidelining other important elements of your life.
One thing I have noticed in every intense person is that, if you allow it, the fire will just take over…and it will burn down everything else.
I’ve watched as people have done incredible things and kept it all together, and I’ve watched as people have done incredible things — at the expense of other important areas of life.

The intensity a high performer carries to thrive and perform is a beast with many heads. It is a tremendous gift that can lead to greatness, and it can also be the thing that leaves you struggling. If you want to tap into the former rather than the latter, then it’s time to learn how to strategically unleash and manage that beast — so let’s talk about how you can use it to play more like the top 1%, who keep it all together.
