There is the place you are today, and there is the place you know is possible. If you are someone who takes action then you’ll get there, it will just take time.
But something is often lost on your journey forward. Though you will leap professionally, the person you are doesn’t always keep up with your achievements or how you’ve grown in your seat.
When you’re driving hard, time seems like a blur as you strive for and reach the next tier of achievement. It barely seems like any years have passed at all as you stand back and look at the professional ladder you’ve been able to climb — the greater profits, the promotions, or the building you’ve done.
There’s a risk that will hold you back: while you’ve scaled professionally to notch 7, a lot of people can end up feeling like the same person who was on notch 2. It moves so fast, and you’re so focused, that the person you *are* hasn’t caught up to the achievements you have made — and that mismatch creates a gap.
This gap of mismatch can start to hold people back. They question themselves at the table, they feel like imposters, et cetera…but if you align your person to your accomplishments, it instills a sense of power.
This edition is about the gaps. Not just in what you know you can do, but in who you become on the way. This is a difficult one — it will make you think, and it will challenge you to step up.
No one pays attention to the space between who you are and what you can do, but paying attention to this gap and bridging it, can elevate you among your peers...and shift your level of operation dramatically.
