The path to building big things requires motivational endurance, and that’s where so many people fall off the road. At times, everyone has rough periods. As one of my C-suite clients said to me, “I always bring optimism to the team, but behind the scenes, I don’t always feel as hungry and optimistic as I lead others to believe.” But these moments should be temporary.
“Going through the motions” is the bellwether of resignation, and if it continues too long, it can seem like a piece of us has died.
