Hard hits come with the territory of learning, and learning is essential to growth. However, if you want to take hits and go big, you have to be hard to kill.

Most people, frankly, are “easy” kills. If you look around, you’ll see great talent and possibility never meet its potential every day…and there will be a thousand reasons why. A big part of what I’ve seen underlying many of these challenges is ego.

Everything you want will be on the other side of your ego.

However, ego has been defined in many ways, so let’s start off on the same page:

In psychology, “ego” is defined and experienced as “the sense of self.” More practically, it is the part of you that often judges and holds the attitudes, values, and concerns related to yourself — particularly as it interacts with those in the outside world.

So, it is essentially how you deeply think/feel about yourself as that internal sense of person interacts with the world.

And yes, I’m going to ask you to drop it. Smash it. But for the sake of this newsletter…I’ll start by asking you to simply put it aside. This will be a challenging read, but I want you to go there with me — and you’ll quickly see how this philosophy ties into success.

So here’s what we’re aiming for:

  • High confidence

  • High conviction

  • Big self-belief

  • …and no ego

Let’s talk about how to let go of that ego, how it might hang on, and how to use this strategy to get what you want.
