If you want to shift levels, don't avoid the *internal* shifts that will get you there.
As we finish up another week, I want to send you off into the weekend with an important reminder: “What got you here won’t get you there.”
People often get tripped up because the very traits that got them to the point of success aren’t always the same ones they’ll rely on for the next level. They cling to those previous versions of themselves like safety nets, when - in reality - different stages will require different things from you.
So how do you prepare for it?
It’s time to go all-in, be willing to dive in head-first, and evolve. Be open to growth, and remember that refusal to change isn’t stubbornness - it’s an actively destructive trait whether you’re at work, with employees who can’t take feedback, or in your relationships.
Drop your ego and expand.
Remember some traits that got you to one level need to be dropped for the next. Don’t say, “That’s not who I am.” Adapt, evolve, and step up.
1. Secondary gains are very real, and they can hold you back in a big way. If you want to go big this year, it’s time to take off the brakes.
2. It’s critical to find a balance between being impatient in the short-term and still playing the long game.
3. Not enough time to do the deep work? Use decision-making filters to create more space for you to operate in your highest & best use.
4. It’s not about having all of the answers, it’s about knowing you can figure them out.
5. So much regret comes from simply not taking action when you had the chance. Save yourself from that pain - start moving.
6. It can be very challenging to “take a break” when you love what you do, but if you want to sustain an elite level of operation, those breaks are essential.
