How you spend your time catches up to you. Are you using it to your advantage?
Most of us have heard the phrase, “What you consume, consumes you.”
In today’s digital world, this is especially true - and critically important - for anyone who wants to get ahead. The time you spend on social media, the energy you invest checking in with the latest news, and even the TV shows you watch…all of these have an impact on you. And on your headspace.
Instead of letting these things control you, here’s a quick hack:
Audit the content you allow in your sphere, and take steps to turn what you consume into leverage.
→ Love watching Netflix to unwind? Find a TV show, movie, or documentary that gets you fired up for the next day.
→ Need a daily dose of the news? Schedule a catch-up every afternoon or evening (or whenever works for you) instead of letting potential stressors slow your momentum in the morning.
→ Always read before bed? Ditch the business books - which often miss the important aspects of success - and pick up biographies & autobiographies from business leaders, athletes, artists, and innovators who have risen to the highest levels of their crafts.
You don’t have to stop consuming all forms of content to be truly successful, but the level of intention you bring matters. Be mindful, get strategic, and make sure the content you’re consuming is serving you. And if it’s not? Don’t be afraid to make some cuts.
