If you’re an ambitious person, you may have spent your entire life being told to “be realistic” about your goals or things you want to do...“Don’t be unreasonable,” and other pressures to tamp down your own aspirations. Maybe you’ve been flat-out told that your ideas are “just not possible.”
It usually stings in the moment, can be discouraging to some, and shuts many incredibly talented people down. The box of other people’s expectations are often a trap that way—and allowing that to define your path, will cage you too.
Look around—it’s everywhere…Shooting for the middle, encouraging the middle, and discouraging anyone who is brave enough to stick their neck out and try.
In truth? There’s a whole realm of possibilities for you to chase. There are people who accomplish incredible things—why not you?
Be unrealistic enough to aim for more, and unreasonable enough to chase it—
If you have the self-knowledge of what you can do, don’t allow anyone to tamp down your fire.
Dig in.
Show the world what you’ve got.
Dr. Gurner, you are always there - encouraging, uplifting, opening our minds to new ideas. A huge and heartfelt "thank you" for all that you do!
