Thoughts of the Week: November 17, 2023
The happiness you want is on the other side of saying "no."
Sometimes it’s time to quit. Change paths. Pivot your time and energy into something that is actually beneficial to you and your goals — not because you’re “giving up” on something, but because you’re making a choice. You’re choosing to create space for the things you *do* want, and that only happens once you let go of what you don’t.
We often think success is about saying “yes” to everything, but learning to say “no” is the real differentiator. The distractions, the relationships, the well-paying job that you know, deep down, has run its course — when you avoid making the hard call, you’re avoiding the future you really want.
Don’t do that to yourself. Make the hard decisions, pluck up the courage to say “no,” and remember that nothing should be running on life support.
Absolutely resonate with this, thanks so much for sharing Julie! The payoff is huge if you put systems in place that allow you to have the necessary time, energy, and focus to pursue genuine goals.
