What defines "work-life balance?” You hear it a lot, and frankly, it looks different for everyone, at different stages — it’s highly individual and mutable, not bound in the confines of someone else’s framework. There will be times you have to push, times that are immersive, and times you have the freedom to enjoy more space. You get to decide what balance looks like for you, or if you have it at all right now in this season. It’s up to you.
Whatever your needs, and whatever that looks like - You’ll have to set your boundaries and hold to them…and often, you’ll end up disappointing a few people along the way.
This is a reminder to be deliberate and honest about what you need, where you’re at, communicate it, and hold to it. Ideally for most? All-in when working, and all-in with your personal life - with times that certainly lean in one direction or the other depending on the demands of either. You know deep down what you need for your own life, and your own progress - you know what needs to give and take, what needs to hold, and when.
The most important thing is to make a deliberate decision about where your focus needs to be, set up the boundaries you need to have, and be the person who follows through.
The game of balance is different for those who push - and it often changes through the different seasons of building. Communicate well, and do what you need to do.
