Thoughts of the Week: January 10, 2025
Set up! Ruthless time management wins the day (and the outcomes)
ICYMI: After popular demand, I’m re-running my transformative course, “Forging Titans: Achieving Outlier Performance as a Leader.” Sign up here for this intensive weekend-long event.
Familiar readers of Ultra Successful know my stance on hustle culture: there are times you need to push, and times you need to plan and assess. It isn’t a constant “grind”—but thoughtful sprints and doing what needs to be done, and sometimes that will require more or less of you.
Today’s thoughts are on ruthless time management—cutting the fat, the unnecessary, and the things that pull at your time. Look at where your time is actually going, how many obligations you might take on that you don’t really need to, or elements of the business you need to prune in your own work.
Focused pushes can lead to extraordinary outcomes, but trying to “do it all” will burn you out.
Instead of succumbing to the endless pulls on your time, start putting your energy to its highest and best use. Choose your priorities, say “no,” and keep pushing when it matters—and watch your results increase tenfold.
Use the beginning of the year, to take control of where your energy goes…personally, and professionally.
It’s time to focus up, cut the drains, and get the results you want.
1. Success doesn’t just fall on your lap, you have to work for it.
