Power is taken when no one is paying attention

A lot of people confuse loudness with strength. But not every effective leader, employee, or founder is loud…and you don’t need to be either.
Power is often silent and unrelenting.
The world is loud—filled with people talking, shouting, and posting about the moves they’re taking and the achievements they’re making. It can be tempting to join the crowd—to show off what you’re doing while you’re doing it—but you can’t let yourself give in to that. Falling into the crowd is where aspirations go to die, and people get side-tracked.
The crowd is mediocre. The crowd is distracting. The crowd pulls you from your potential. It’s filled with people seeking external validation and gratification before the work is even done. Make connections, promote the good stuff, but don’t use it to validate yourself or steer your work.
In a world of noise, move with the curtains closed. Separate yourself from how others operate. While they’re talking instead of doing, you can move faster and further in silence. You will have far more potential—and they’ll never see you coming.
Be the silent killer in your space.
Talk about your work when it’s *done*.
This speaks to me "Power is often silent and unrelenting." It's the unrelenting part that is often missing.
Sometimes when I see people relentlessly bragging about their qualifications or achievements, I can’t help but think of that old saying: ‘The lady doth protest too much, methinks.’ Makes you wonder what they’re trying to prove—and to whom.
